Mr. Frank Coluccio: Founder, Director and Convener
Frank Coluccio is a community visionary and activist. He established Hi-Tech Consulting (HTC), Community Liaison Environmental Action Network (CLEAN) and Sustainable Industries Development Institute (SIDI). He passionately advocates to make Wollongong the “First Australian Smart Hi-Tech Eco-city”, and along government policies. In the past, he freely disclosed his ideas to Wollongong City Council and to the public, and which were frequently published in the Illawarra Mercury (local newspaper), and more recently, on the web. He was a key driver of a community visioning plan for Wollongong run by Wollongong Council called “Wollongong Futures”. www.wollongongfutures.com
He holds a Science Degree (Chemistry) from the University of Wollongong and worked in industry (Tallawarra Coal Power Station). He consulted to Sydney Water – drinking program. He worked as a local environmental consultant for Grace Dearborn and Allied Colloids. He was a member of the Wollongong City Council ‘Ecological Sustainable Development Committee’.

Dr. Anton Dominis: Associate
Like his colleague above, he is a community visionary and activist, and with similar aims and strategies. He has a longstanding interest in reducing urban sprawls and thus urban planning issues, novel materials, sustainable eco-friendly house designs and environmental issues, especially concerning the ‘blue-carbon’ system. He instigated the idea that Lake Illawarra should have a second opening in order to ‘save it’, and which was publically disclosed. It’s on the web under “Wollongong Futures”
Anton’s interests are not only community based but intertwined with dynamic governmental policies, including industrial and urban development, pollution issues and scientific (chemistry, biology, geology and geography).
He holds post-graduate qualifications in Chemistry and Diploma in Education. He worked in industry (BHP), academia (Microwave Applications Research Centre and Materials Engineering at the University of Wollongong) and education (High School science teacher).
His skills include teaching, organising, public speaking (at e.g. national and international seminars and as a lecturer and teacher), technical interviews, analytical chemistry, R&D, technical report writing, instigating ideas and follow through to fruition. He published numerous technical papers in Chemistry, including the book “The re-examination of Croatian People, Supplemented by the use of Genetics” (2009), p384, ISBN 978-0-9806822-0-5. Currently, he is writing a fictional novel.
For several years Anton frequently spoke on Croatian Radio (in Sydney, Liverpool and Wollongong) and for several years wrote (in English) periodic articles for Australian-Croatian newspapers. On ceremonial and commemorative occasions, he was/is a regular spokesman of Sydney’s Croatian community. For seventeen (17) years he was a member of the Croatian Australian Literary and Arts Association (HALUD, Sydney) and held the Vice-Presidency and Presidency for a number of years.
Dr. Peter Tritcher: Mathematician
Like the above colleagues, he is a local community activist. He holds post graduate qualifications in mathematics. He also holds a Diploma in Metallurgy and Diploma in Education. His industrial and academic skills include; industrial mathematical modeling, transport modeling, groundwater flow and statistical analysis.
His publications are in the area of heat conduction, surface diffusion and water flow. Currently, he is a lecturer of Mathematics at the University of Wollongong. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Metallurgist at the local steel plant (former BHP).
Tony Konjarski: Horticulturalist
Tony is a horticulturalist. He is also an ‘environmental conservationalist’ and ‘bush regenerator’. He was a participant in community regenerating programs in the Illawarra district. For example, he was involved in the regeneration of native flora stretching from Illawarra’s escarpments to the sea, called “Mt Kembla and Mt Keira Green Corridors”. Such ‘green corridors’ were carried out on government lands and abandoned/disued terrain. The committee of such schemes composed of the RTA, Water Board, TAFE, UoW, BHP, WCC, Lions Club and Rotary Club.
Currently, Tony is employed with the Shellharbour City Council (SCC). He is also studying for a “Diploma in Sport and Computers” at TAFE, Sydney. Tony is also an active member of several community groups within the Illawarra.
Andrew Anthony: IT Professional
Driven by his strong Christian faith and desire to help others, Andrew has been a passionate campaigner for social justice and the environment. Born and raised in Wollongong, he served a term as a Councillor at Wollongong City Council was an avid supporter of “Wollongong Futures”, council’s Bushcare programme and council’s other Environmental Sustainability projects. Prior to his election to Council in 2004, Andrew served on Council’s Ecological Sustainable Development Committee and was convenenor of the now defunct Neighbourhood Committee 7. Andrew has a passion for cycling and was chair of the Bicycle Planning Taskforce during his term on Council. He has served on the boards of Healthy Cities Illawarra, Landcare and was a founding member of the Illawarra Bicycle User Group.
Andrew is a qualified IT Technician and runs his own IT consultancy. Andrew’s hope is to see the Illawarra Escarpment afforded greater protection from unbridled development.
